Brandon is a self taught filmmaker, photographer, musician, and online content creator living in Northern Virginia.
He plans to pursue filmmaking and other means of visual storytelling professionally.
His work has been widely recognized online, with the 2012 stop-motion animated Squadron 13: Infiltration becoming a YouTube sensation. His channel BKMPictures is steadily growing and has close to 4,000,000 total views and over 7,000 subscribers.
He has also received many accolades for his short film work. Along with collaborator Kat Vlasova, he co-created the short film Pencils that was one of only ten chosen to be showcased at the 2016 TriBeCa Film Festival in New York. The competition, to create a film entirely with the app Snapchat, was judged by industry giants like actor Steve Buscemi, actress Jessica Alba, and rapper DJ Khaled. While attending the festival, he, Vlasova, and the other finalists were given an opportunity by Samsung to utilize their pre-production 360° virtual reality cameras to create another short film in the span of 24 hours. Of the resulting films, his was chosen in the top 3.
His work has also been recognized by various other film festivals, having shot the 2016 VHSL Film Festival winner Sunland, and shorts like 1066, On Your Own, and From Within receiving accolades from local festivals like the Video Fairfax Awards.
Additionally, he directed a music video for his band Cymbalize's song Chance at Life which is now being used by non-profit organizations such as No Chain in campaigns and documentaries to promote the reunification of North and South Korea.
